We told people Super Hydorah was coming to Vita most likely later but we couldn't comment too much since it wasn't even ready for Vita at the time. Even the publisher/developers told people. ROM Vita came out of nowhere and we were pretty keen on not doing it originally, but everyone here asked for it, so I guess we shouldn't do it? Dariusburst Vita was never ever signed and wasn't kept secret, it wasn't until people starting asking about Vita that we realized we hadn't even signed it. We were under an agreement after that, that if the PS4 did well we could do Vita.

BadLand's release is canceled worldwide. Any orders for that release will end up canceled and unfulfilled. Before anyone gets upset, we didn't have anything to do with that - the developer came to us after everything with BadLand had already gone down. I'm unsure when BadLand will have the listings taken down from retailers, but I imagine it will be soon unless they want to anger their distributors.

I don't know where you are getting some of these numbers from. The price increase as a whole for all platforms is now $15 over the digital price vs $10. We had been taking a hit with every Vita release since we launched when compared to PS4. Vita and Switch are pretty on par with costs. We started off with price parity and we are ending with price parity.

Going to nip this price drama in the bud. Yes, one reason is that Switch carts costs more than PS4 discs but not more than Vita really, since Vita maxes out at 4GB. So price parity is something we wanted and our developers wanted. The other reason is ESRB fees are starting to have a bigger impact now and people have been telling us for the longest time they would pay more if it was to help with the fee. So here we are... We have to pay more ESRB fees if we do multiple platforms, so there is a real cost increase.

So we could do this. Instead of listing 70% of the stock during the first batch we could just do 50% and still leave it at 2 per customer to see if there really is demand. If there is we can list the other 50% during the second batch and change it to 1 per customer. That way seems the safest without us being stuck with a ton.

When you get an ESRB rating, you own it for life. Since we do 1 print and done and only for certain platforms, it doesn't make sense for us to own the rating. You are also liable for that rating too. So for example, I do a PS4 release and then the dev works with someone to do an Xbox release and that version has something they didn't disclose or they didn't follow all the rules 100%, I would be fined for it.

Skullgirls statement thingy 5,010 copies were produced in total - which covers the ~3,500 which were sold, the developer and our promotional copies, and overage for replacements. The roll of stickers for numbers 0001 - 2000 ended up not being entirely usable, so copies that were sent out are all labeled 2,000 - 5,500, IIRC. Getting a new roll of stickers would have caused another two-week delay which we just couldn't afford at this point.

EAS has the benefit of being in China, materials are much cheaper. I don't feel like Signature Edition offers more, but that's my opinion. The box for Oddworld is awesome, the whole presentation is miles above what I see others offer typically. Majority of our fans are super excited about it and feel the $65 price tag is fair. Sorry some of you don't. Charging only $10 more does not even pay for the cost to make the box and have it assembled. We made a real effort to step up our game on future CEs starting with this one.

They're 50/50, some blame is game choices and some is userbase moving away to other consoles. It's definitely not like it was 6 months ago though. I have faith some of the bigger titles we have will draw some more customers back. But I do truly believe some have just plain moved on from Vita. But who knows, maybe when people see our announcements it will cause them to dust off their Vita or go buy another one. If the Vita is going out soon I want it to go out with a bang! Just had a childhood friend I'm visiting this weekend tell me he doesn't collect Vita anymore and mainly uses it if he wants to replay old Final Fantasy games. Hoping when I tell him about Munch he gets hyped again though since he first introduced me to Oddworld!

I think its for several reasons and by most likely in this order... 1. We released too many games at once! 2. The slow down happens to be happening when a lot of AAA CEs and games have been coming out as well as being during the holidays. This personally affected me as I had like 4 CEs shipped to me in a two week span and none of them were cheap... 3. More competitors and older ones stepping up their output.

PAX South was much slower with us not having a variant. Typically when we announce a variant we get a huge line formed as soon as the doors open. The secret to a successful event is having an exclusive, it's why pins are so big right now, booths with them get a lot of traffic. I don't feel like an LRG pin is enough to drive customers though. They usually get a pin for playing a game or buy it due to being a penny arcade pin.

Yeah, I'm not being pessimistic just realistic. Like I'm worried some of the things I have personally planned for the Vita could backfire due to support dropping. I LOVE the platform and want to keep it going as long as I can, but I can't force people to keep their Vitas or convince Sony to support it more. I think it's a little crazy for people to be upset with my comment as it's just me sadly seeing the writing on the wall. I'm still going forward with my big plans and huge runs that are even at the peak of our success, are scary. I just want you to know that I may end up being bankrupt living in a house with furniture made out of Vita cases. But it will be my choice and no one's fault, just how the market shifted. I have big games coming that I'm hoping will have more worldwide appeal so help sustain their size and plans. Right now LRG's biggest audience is still mostly the USA, so with these, I hope to hit more countries that are still fighting the Vita fight as they will be only physical English version in existence for Vita.

Actually, we firmly believe a release like CS being a Japanese Vita game could have sold way more units a year ago. I'm not a fan of Strictly Limited Games name either, it's way too similar imo. I've had developers think it was us or playing a joke. But that's just my opinion. Right now I'm grateful to see games we passed on still get a physical release from someone else. I'll investigate USPS mail innovations, other companies we deal with use it but for some reason, our customers seem to have it the worst when it comes to tracking. Thanks for all the support. Just got in a custom Vita case with our logo on it. Holds 12 games, has a spot for charging cable and obviously your Vita. It's a nice hardshell clamshell case with zippers and a ring to add a strap or charm. Next up is to make a Switch case.

This is what we are trying to communicate, this mentality. If people are "cherry picking" Vita releases then we are definitely going to slow down on signing new Vita games. The MOQ is too high to take chances with Vita as well as the COGS. We have already had to drop our run sizes to what is manageable and some Vita releases take longer to sell out than PS4. You combine that with Vita "die-hards" telling me they are now on Switch it makes absolute sense why other companies stopped supporting it. Our goal is to do it until there is either A. No market, or B. Sony says stop. I love my Vita and still play it more than Switch right now, so if the true Vita fans keep buying from us then everything is okay! One of the games I signed has a huge run but it's something no one would have ever thought we'd pull off. So I have faith that Vita will last at least until the end of this year, optimistically until next year, but statistic wise it's not looking good which saddens me.

Woof, my personal Twitter is not news. Might lock it soon if this keeps up... I was more referring to there being a crap ton of releases from us, AAA and rivals. Definitely, acknowledge that we are mostly to blame, but even I'm broke keeping up with normal releases like DBZF, MHW, SotC, Dissidia Nt, etc... Regarding Friday's sale, it was actually a success for us. We've already started conditioning ourselves to not sell out instantly since that probably will be the case on Switch with the amount we are printing. I can say for sure though that Vita sales are definitely going down though. Even with bigger titles. We have some huge ones coming out and a few localizations coming but Vita is definitely a shrinking market. I keep getting messages from previous Vita fans saying they are going to buy our Switch stuff instead, going forward. I've even seen journalists who claimed to be Vita diehards switch to the Switch. We are going to keep pushing it as long as we can but we can see why others have dropped it. =(

I didn't miss your point, I'm sorry you feel that way. We are no longer doing developer editions or collector edition variants. We've been told having a variant is okay by the majority of our fans as long as it's reversible. We will still have show variants because it helps pay for the booth and travel. We don't like selling things when they aren't in hand, sometimes the dates we list are actually way overestimated. We rather tell you something is farther off and ship it to you quicker than the other way around. With as many games as we have signed, we have to keep the dates we promised developers. We can't predict how long something takes to manufacture as the time it takes seems to constantly change now versus when we first started. We have promised to make 2018 much better in terms of communication. We acknowledge that it was spread everywhere. The main sources are going to be the website, mailing list, twitter, facebook and our forum. Again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience and losing you as a customer.

Just going to clear it up one more time. We signed a lot of games back in the day because we never imagined we'd hit a point where everyone wanted their game to come out at the same time. That coupled with the ESRB delaying a lot of releases caused us to get into this mess. It is 100% our fault for not having a backup plan or realizing this was going to happen. Some games got canceled, some were too far along to cancel, some already paid for ESRB ratings, etc. We think Mecho Tales is a great game. We understand why people are upset, we've taken that to heart and won't be doing any more "developer" editions. When we say we "forgot" it's because a developer has typically "disappeared" or is busy at the time. We didn't forget that we signed the game, we only forgot that they would want to come out by a certain time because they've failed to spark any conversation with us after we had to delay it with the ESRB, which can imply to us that they need more time. We never rush our partners into a release. We are developer focused and want this to be painless and stress-free for them. A lot of times we will email a developer steps on what to do and they will start working on them without responding back to us, so we get caught by surprise when they turn out to be ready to go. Sometimes it's 100% our fault and we forget to follow up. We have taken steps to prevent this from happening going forward in 2018. We spent an entire week working on a rough draft for a release schedule for most of the year. We are committed to making next year better for developers and customers. We love our fanbase and are going to make sure we don't lose sight of how we got here in the first place.

We aren't doing developer editions again. We signed this long ago, so long ago we forgot. Discussions happened, ESRB happened, and this was what we could compromise on. 2018 does not represent this release strategy as a whole. This is not going to be repeated. Part of this comes from an added cost that wasn't there when it was signed. There is literally nothing I can say to make anyone understand or happy. So I'm done commenting on this. ='(

We are actually going to be slowing down on CE's. We plan to do them only when it makes sense, make them have a better value and lower the unit count. Making too many can be risky sometimes, other times we just don't have enough. Personally, I think the RCM & DDIV CE's are pretty sweet and we've had a very positive response to these.

Claire is on two platforms so it can make it's money back easier. At a small run of 2,000, it's harder for the developer or us to make any money with the costs of goods plus the ESRB fee. We would essentially be breaking even, and that's not how a business should run.

This is a lesser known game, we didn't want this game to not sell out. It's $29.99 to help combat the low run, ESRB, and make the developer some more money to continue working in the game industry. It might not be ideal for you or some others, but for us helping a developer be able to afford to stay in the industry and continue making art is one of the reasons we got into this business. Most developers live paycheck to paycheck if we print too many copies and they don't sell out that negatively impacts the developer. We are also taking into account last Black Friday when we sold Stealth Inc, it sold very, very slowly. Which is why this is a lower run. We've added extras to make the $29.99 seem worth it, if it's not to you, then I'm sorry. Others seem pretty excited and we are too!

The game is set at $29.99 for the following reasons: 1. The print size was low enough to where in this case the ESRB fee would have made this release impossible. 2. The game has an awesome manual which added to the costs. 3. The game comes with 5 trading cards. 4. We wanted to help support the developer. We don't plan on adding a fee for the ESRB costs as we said we don't want to do that, but for super small runs, it's required or else no one is making any money at all. To be fair my Twitter is constantly tweeted at by people saying they'd pay more to help fight the ESRB costs. It's only 2,000 copies because we've seen a lot of our sales slow down lately. Could be due to holidays, but regardless we don't imagine this selling out that fast. We also want Joe's game to be a success! It's still in manufacturing because Sony seems to still be behind right now. When we put Nex Machina on sale we had ordered the game over a month ago and still didn't have a ship date yet for example.

The hold order limit was reduced to help prevent larger orders going missing in the mail and human mistakes. Nice comparison using my Doctor appointments against me! ;) We thought we would have most of these games in time for the sale, but production is still a bit slow. We are definitely trying to speed up our shipping speed though, I seriously agree that it fell off the deep end for a bit in terms of speed.

I'm sorry you're having issues! We are trying to make some changes to the hold service to make it easier for us and customers. We've lowered the value you can hold in order to minimize risk on our end and for you as some people have been holding games that we sold at the beginning of the year which to me is excessive.
