Of course I realize that, and its fucking dumb. However, we can't pretend that some dumb white girl singing a SONG written by a rapper she adores is in the same ballpark as a klansman trying to lynch us from a tree. If it gets to that point (and honestly I think it's reached that point) we need to remove the word from our vernacular altogether because it has way too much power. I mentor multiple young black men in the inner city, and I've taught in inner city high schools my entire career (10 years) bypassing higher paying jobs in suburban districts who are falling over themselves to hire a black male special education teacher. Why? Because our youth needs positive male influences.
